Paramparā

Against the backdrop of Guru Poornima, Parampara: Past & Present is our ode to classic choreographies that have stood the test of time and have been passed on through the Guru-Shishya Parampara to be both reinterpreted and preserved by the young dancers of today.

"Past & Present" thus expresses the sentiment that even today, among all of the discourse surrounding whether we are letting go of tradition in favor of modernity, "past" teachings and practices can still remain in coexistence with the "present" of the dance world as they live on through young dancers.

This will also be the first installment in Kalaavidya's new Baithak series, an initiative meant to allow audiences to experience art more informally and intimately.
